  • 1 classical repertoire solo OR 1 classical pas de deux.

  • 1 contemporary solo OR 1 contemporary pas de deux.

  • If no access to a studio, participants may submit a contemporary solo only, filmed at any place.

  • Videos must be filmed from the front and in one take from start to finish and without any splicing or altering.

  • Video to be filmed IN A STUDIO OR ON A STAGE in the week before submission. No competition videos or older videos will be accepted.

  • Selection will be based to a large extent on the video performance. It is therefore important that the technical quality of the recording is good.

  • Video quality and formatting:

Up to 1080p, anything below is also acceptable.

Size: Up to 1GB, anything above that and the video clips must be uploaded in parts, or the quality should be reduced.

Format: The following formats are supported:

(.mov, .mp4, .m4v, .m2v, .avi, .avi, .mpg, .flv, .mwv, .webm, .ogv, .mxf, .asf, .vob, .mts)

  • Dress: competition costumes preferable, but if not possible then black leotard & pinks tights for Ladies, and  black tights with a white ballet T-shirt for Men will be permitted.

  • Videos must be clearly marked with the participant/s name/s, title of work and date recorded:


  • The Panelists’ decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • No non-participating partners permitted. All partners are required to submit their own entry.

  • AGES/AGE ON 13 JULY 2020:

Scholars – 12 to 15 years   Juniors – 16 to 20 years     Seniors – 21 to 28 years

  6. Written permission for use of contemporary choreography and original music where and if required.

  7. Composite Entry Fee - $150 USD Entrance Fee (RSA residents R1200)
