ABOUT SAIBC
Launched as an initiative of Dirk Badenhorst in 2008, the first South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC) was held in the city that year, the second in 2010, the third in 2012 and the fourth in 2014. The fifth SAIBC took place in February 2016, the 6th in 2018. In 2020 Covid-19 created a need for us to go online for the 7th SAIBC.
THIS YEAR 2021, THE 8TH SAIBC IS A HYBRID: ON STAGE CAPE TOWN OR ONLINE. ALSO WITH A NEW NOVICE SECTION (AFRICA ONLY) FOR 6-8 YEAR OLD DANCERS.
