SAIBC REGIONALS 2026

 

The South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC) is proud to announce our Regional Competition, which will be hosted in Johannesburg, Polokwane, Durban, and Gqeberha from February 2026. The SAIBC Nationals was founded by Dirk Badenhorst in 2008. Today it is recognised as Africa’s finest and most established ballet event of its kind that attracts dancers of the highest caliber from across the globe.

This year the regional competition will have three age groups: ages 8 to 12, 13 to 16 and 17 to 22, featuring both Classical Ballet and Contemporary categories and the recently introduced duets, trios and group categories. 

​

In each region dancers will be selected to take part in the 13th SAIBC Nationals at The Artscape Theatre, Cape Town, 03 - 07 August 2026. Additionally overall winners in each region will be awarded a flight ticket and accommodation in Cape Town to compete at the 12th SAIBC Nationals.
